automatic axies scaling with small numbers

Post by FrancisP » Thu Jan 22, 2004 5:21 am

Hi All,
I got a question about the automatic increment of axes. I have relative small numbers (in to order of 1E-14) and the Y-axis does not do show any ticks other than the 0. Using the editor, setting the increment to 5E-15 does not result in any axis labels. As there is a fair amount of graphs produces, manual setting each graph would not be a viable option (unless prozac would be part of the contract).

Any suggestions  ?

Francis

PS may this have connections to the array overflow error for small increments?

Hi Marjan,

Thanks for your response. The work-around is a bit cumbersome for a 'non-source-owner' with lots of small number crunching.

Do you think the minAxisIncrement property could be exposed in the next maintenenace release?

Cheers
Francis

Hello Francis,

We'll look at the possibility to open access to minAxisIncrement, making it public may invite new problems. Nevertheless Minimum Axis increment will be improved in the next maintenance release with new safeguards against failure.

Hi Francis,

I think the next maintenance release will be out in two or three weeks.
